The Westmorland Residents’ Association welcomes you to Westmorland, and hopes that you’ve settled in well and are now enjoying your new environment.

The main role of the Association is to represent the interests of the residents, by dealing with the Christchurch City Council and other appropriate bodies, to improve local amenities and generally improve our subdivision. Issues we have become involved with (some of which are on-going) are traffic, proposed subdivisions in the area, bus services, crime, recreational facilities, and any other issue that affects Westmorland.

We distribute a regular newsletter to keep residents informed of committee activities, current issues, local developments, and various other items of local interest. We hold a very popular Annual Picnic, in the Sedgwick Way Reserve, on the first Sunday in March each year, and that is an excellent opportunity for new residents to meet their neighbours, perhaps for the first time. We provide BBQ sausages and bread, plus drinks for the children. Attractions include a Noddy Train, Bouncey Castle, face-painting, running races, novelty events and a lolly scramble. Bring some cash with you, because there is also a coffee cart and ice cream van offering great treats at very competitive prices. It is always a fun day, and we'd love you come along and join us next March.

We trust that we can count on your support in our efforts to maintain Westmorland as an attractive, peaceful, friendly and desirable place to live. If you require any information or assistance, please do not hesitate to Contact Us or one of our Committee members. We hope your Westmorland experience is a great one !
